Kerry Rolewicz

My formal art education began in high school with Early College Courses at the Art Institute of Chicago. I continued on to earn my Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Creighton University, spending one semester abroad with Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. I currently reside in Rockford, MI with my husband & our four boys.

My 2D work begins with an old frame, a blank sheet of paper & a handful of sharpened pencils. I trace the size of the frame on the paper & start scribbling. I scribble & erase & scribble & erase until I start to see something in the lines. I pull the images out of the scribble using colored pencils & oil pastels. I having been working this way for over 20 years & I am so excited that after 100’s of pieces, I can still find images in the lines.

I also have a love for piecing things together. Over the years, I have created various found object sculptures, wood collages, mosaic tile and wooden wall installations, and most recently, murals. I display my work in a wide variety of venues throughout the country so I hope to see you out there soon!
