About

Kerry Rolewicz

My formal art education began in high school with Early College Courses at the Art Institute of Chicago. I continued on to earn my Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Creighton University, spending one semester abroad with Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy.

My 2D work begins with an old frame, a blank sheet of paper & a handful of sharpened pencils. I trace the size of the frame on the paper & start scribbling. I scribble & erase & scribble & erase until I start to see something in the lines. I pull the images out of the scribble using colored pencils & oil pastels. I having been working this way for over 20 years & I am so excited that after 100’s of pieces, I can still find images in the lines.

I also have a love for piecing things together. Over the years, I have created various found object sculptures, wood collages, mosaic tile and wooden wall installations.

I have displayed in a wide variety of venues throughout the country. In the summer of 2016, my family relocated to Michigan. I currently reside in Rockford, MI with my husband & our four boys.
